GREAT GPS September 6, 2008 Before buying this GPS I did my homework. I checked consumer reports and read customer reviews. It got great reviews so I bought it and I love it. It aquires the satellite signal quickly and reroutes after a missed turn fast. The FM transmitter is great to use if you can get a clear channel. The only problem is the window mount, it doesn't stay up for very long. Put it up in the morning and by night it has fallen into the floor.
NUVI 660 September 6, 2008 Worked great out of the box. Got me around Dallas first week I had it. Been shopping for a new GPS for a while now so when the price on this unit dropped to $300.00 I jumped on it. Bluetooth feature worked great, almost worth the price alone. Wish it had an altimiter which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
excellent quality September 5, 2008 the price was right, the quality is right, and the time in transit was minimal. highly recommend this item to anyone.
An Essential Item! September 5, 2008 I bought the Garmin nuvi 660 because we were going on a major trip this summer to Niagara Falls, New York City and Washington D.C., and thought it would be helpful. That was an understatement! It saved us on more that one occasion: When we ran into construction it directed us on a detour around the construction and saved us a lot of time; We ended up arriving in New York City after dark, which for us is scary enough driving during the day! But it guided us to our hotel, and when we accidently missed a turn, it recalculated the directions and got us there with no problems. It has a female voice that speaks the directions along with the written directions on the screen, so you don't have to keep looking at the screen. Of course you can turn the volume down or off. I love this item, and we use it all of the time. Instead of asking for directions to someone's house or a business, we just put in the address and it takes us right to it. One of my favorite features is being able to tap the screen and a list of future directions shows up so we know ahead of time where we need to turn, even though it tells us in plenty of time. (It's comforting to some of us to know way ahead of time.) And being able to search for restaurants and gas stations along the way, and then inserting those directions as a via point. And how it tells you what time you should arrive at your destination! (It's very accurate too. It adjusts the time when there are slowdowns, etc.) Actually I love everything about this product and would recommend it to anyone.
Love my Garmin September 5, 2008 I love my Garmin 660. I recently took a trip cross-country and it was invaluable and worked even in remote areas. The menu is easy to use and it is very handy to be able to search for gas stations and nearby restaurants. The text-to-speech feature is a must and I wouldn't buy a gps without it.
