Don't take advantage of this ... waste of money. July 11, 2008 I read many other reviews of different sites and shows that this globe does not contain names of different countries and states. It only has pictures of many different animals and only a few landmarks. There are only four modes of play including: 1. Explore: Touch an animal to hear the animal's sound and a fun fact about the animal. 2. Search the World: Touch any picture of a specific continent to start the "Find it" game. In the middle of the game, when you touch the different continent, you find something in a different continent. When you find it, you hear the ding, and the animal's sound (if applicable). 3. Music: You hear music in different areas of the continent. 4. Adventure: It's an up-beat version of different facts about animals and landmarks.
Please don't waste any money when you buy the junior version about the globe. I would recommend the regular explorer globe because there are thousands and even millions of mare facts than the junior version.
wonderful toy for 3-year old! June 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was great! My daughter got it when she was about three. In about
three days she had learned the oceans and continents and I never once
had sat down with her to go over them. She loves the animals, so she'd
sit with it for half an hour at a time completing engrossed. Now my 1 and
a half year old son has it, and he's crazy about it, but his rough handling has ruined a lot of the sensors. Some sensors don't work now and
some are located on the wrong spot. Wish it were more robust.
Awesome Learning Toy September 30, 2005 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this toy for my 5 year old son. He loves it and plays with it OFTEN. He spends time alone with the toy listening to the information and truly learning new things. He is always proud to come and tell his father or I the new things he has discovered on his globe. My other sons play with the toy also, and I am EXTREMELY impressed with it's durability. My 2 and 3 year olds have dropped it down the steps, carried it around the house by the pen and it still works "good as new". I love this toy and plan to purchase a more age appropriate globe for him over the next several years.
Intro to Geography September 26, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My 2 year old son loves this toy. It teaches the continents, has a music feature highlighting the type of music of each continent but the feature that he likes best is the animals. It gives a brief intro to numerous animals and shows him what continent that animal is located as well as the noise that animal makes. Even though the manufacturer recommended age is 3 years old, I knew he would be able to play with it (with little assistance). I know others have said that it wasn't what they expected because it only teaches the continents but I think it's a great first introduction to geography.
Not bad September 12, 2005 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
We bought this globe for our 4 year old daughter's birthday. It is a little below her skills. Our 2 year old gets better use out of it. It has a lot of great features and does teach the kids a lot about animals and different parts of the world. But does not teach much about the continents themselves.
