Still the first book to turn to for the malt drinker June 14, 2000 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
The new edition of this guide to malt whiskies (mainly Scottish, but there are mentions for some others too) carries on the good work of previous editions. The new 'thing' in malt whisky at the moment is the use of different woods for maturing the spirit, this has lead to many new presentations which are well covered in this volume. Even if you have a previous edition of this book it is still worth getting a copy of the new one.

This book is getting a little dated now (time for a new edition Michael), but it is still the first book that most malt drinkers turn to for information about a distillery and an opinion of its products. Not only are the regular malts reviewed, but there are also details of rare bottlings and some special editions.
